Guests tell us that from the moment they arrive at the Beazley House they are stuck by the beauty of our gardens.

And no wonder: they are ahhhhh inspiring.  Having grown up pampered for over 28 years, they have become a visual welcome reflecting our hospitality…hinting of more to come.

The  Secret Garden

Tucked between the Mansion and our Carriage House is a hidden, secret Eden of tranquility. We have had locals who have been driving by for years comment that they had no idea there were such beautiful gardens when they see the oasis behind our mansion.

It’s here that guests can enjoy breakfast, especially if they are traveling with their pooches.

Shaded mornings by the mansion and mid day the by the old oak,  this tranquility is bathed in golden light in the late afternoons and at sunset.

This beauty would not be possible with out the constant care and tending of our Master Gardener Nilda Douma and her assistant Gloria Garcia.

gloria-nilda-swing-verticleNilda came to us orginally in the mid 1980′s from Brazil where she had been a teacher. She initially worked as a housekeeper and, because she was shy about her English, she refused our constant requests to become an innkeeper. Eventually she moved back to Brazil leaving us and her beau Dan Douma broken hearted. She was persuaded to move back to Napa by a very presistent Dan whom she married in the Beazley House living room about 17 years ago. Fast forward to present: Nilda has gone back to school and earned her credentials as a “Master Gardener.”

And with the help of Gloria and our old friend Javier Becerra who expertly shapes our many shrubs, mows and edges our lush lawns, the proof of their talent grows all around us.

When people ask us what sets us apart from other inns in Napa, we proudly say: OUR GARDENS!

That and the 28 years of constant care they and our guests have been lavished with by the Beazley Family.
